The most miraculous miracles happen when we try to do them ourselves. This is exactly what happened to a dog named Maggie, who, by all canons, should not have survived this winter, like her unborn puppies.
But it turned out differently – through the efforts of a Texas family, which after that became famous in social networks.
Here this Maggie was found on the streets of Fredericksburg a month ago – in the last stages of pregnancy
Through the efforts of volunteers, Maggie was first placed in a shelter, washed and treated, and then transferred to the Aubrey Morgan family . That experienced dog lover, she has three dogs, but she had nothing to do with the birth of puppies. But this is not a reason to retreat – Aubrey reviewed a bunch of videos and bought everything useful, preparing for childbirth. And then shock frosts came to Texas, the electricity was gone, and with it the heat in the house.
Maggie started giving birth when the temperature in the house was already zero
Childbirth in frost is not the most pleasant, but relatively safe phenomenon, in the wild it is not uncommon . The problem is that puppies need a lot of warmth in the first days of life, if they get even a little cold, become lethargic, lose their appetite and that's it. Aubrey and her husband urgently tried to solve the problem – how to warm the puppies, when there is nowhere to warm themselves? Attempts to boil water and pour it into bags, as well as to close and warm one room, did not lead to anything.
The family decided to move into a car with a stove. And the birth continued!
The first four puppies were born in the house, the last three are already in the car. Everything happened late at night, but in the end the family sat inside for 12 hours until they were sure that the puppies were in order. But what's next? There is still no electricity and heat, the forecasts are disappointing, and then Aubrey's husband, risking his life, drove the car along the icy highway to their parents' house. A whole 45 minutes of a strenuous journey, and then a miracle happened – both people and animals were under the roof and warm!
Later, when the energy supply was restored, the family checked the puppies at the veterinarian – everything was fine with them. The kids were named Daisy, Poppy, Ash, Rosie, Dahlia, Clover and Astra. if not for the help of people, everything would have turned out much more tragically. Help your neighbors, whoever they are!
