The life of a dog named Bear wasn't always easy. He wandered alone in the streets of Texas. He was found and taken to a shelter, where he was placed on the euthanasia list. Bear looked as if he had given up, but then he received the news that saved his life – and it was just in time.
The dog that gave up hope
When the 11-year-old dog arrived at the shelter, all visitors ignored him completely. Soon the cute senior had even stopped looking up when someone walked past his cubicle. It was as if he had lost all hope.
He was one of the 28 lives to be euthanized that day. It seems downright unlikely that a dog like him was going to be put to sleep. He had the perfect personality. He was calm and friendly. – admitted the volunteer Madeline Garvis.
Surprisingly, Bear's behavior completely changed when Madeline took him from his shack
Suddenly he stopped shaking. He has come to love being outdoors and being showered with love. Says Madeline Garvis.

We have little chance to see how dogs behave outdoors. As you can see, their attitude can be completely different then, which is perfectly evidenced by Bear. He's doing great. Walks on a leash very nicely, does not make noise and is in good health. – tells Madeline Garvis.
Madeline was determined to find Bear a home before his stay at the shelter was over
I fell in love with him and decided to adopt him. When we went outside, he became about five years his junior. – said Madeline Garvis.
The true personality of this pooch was revealed only when he left his kennel. Bear found his home an hour before the planned euthanasia. Now he is leading the life he has always dreamed of – full of hope, love and time together.
