When Emily arrived at the Danaher Animal Home RSPCA, everyone was shocked at her condition. She was found in the street and she was so skinny that all her bones were visible. It became clear that she needed a lot of care, love and concern to recover.
Only skin and bones
It was all skin and bones. We introduced her to a special diet that consisted of feeding her often, but in small portions. We wanted to slowly build her weight and strength. – admits Louisa Duranti, Deputy Head of RSPCA Danaher Animal Home.
From the street to the loving home
With the help of all her new friends, Emily gained about 4.5 kg in just a few weeks! Although she was stressed after all she had been through, she was slowly emerging from her shell as well. In the end, the female dog regained full health and strength, and then a wonderful family appeared on her way and adopted her. Doggie finally ended up in a real, loving home.
When we saw Emily's photos and learned about her story, our hearts broke. We decided to submit an adoption application to try to help her. Said Mark Colbear, Emily's new dad.
Incredible Transformation
Emily is now at home in her new home, and although she is still stressed at times, the transformation she has made since arriving at the shelter is absolutely amazing. Now she looks like a completely different dog, and everyone who was involved in her journey to happiness are delighted to see how wonderfully she is developing.
Emily is doing really well. Now she can eat full meals, and although she still has moments of anxiety, especially at night, cuddling always helps her. We can only imagine what she went through before. She comes out of her shell more and more every day. He likes to play in the garden and makes more and more happy sounds. Says Mark Colbear.
“We are very happy to have it”
When Emily ended up in the shelter, it was hard to imagine her as a healthy and carefree dog. Now she's doing so well, she's even started to get mischievous! Fortunately, her new family doesn't mind – her parents are just so happy to see her confidence building up.
We are very happy to have her and we are glad that we were the one who was able to provide her with a loving home forever, after all she has been through. – added Mark Colbea.
