Maybe Joey was born a little different from other dogs, but he never let it slow him down at anything. The three-month-old chihuahua wants to do whatever his foster brothers and sisters at Vintage Pet Rescue do. And although he has no front paws, he still has fun and enjoys life.
Plush toy lover
Joey is one of the happiest dogs we have ever met. He doesn't know he's different and absolutely loves to play with toys as well as with other dogs. She loves cuddling. Says Kristen Peralta, founder of Vintage Pet Rescue.
Joey never does anything halfway, be it while having fun or also while sleeping. When he runs out of energy, he looks for the coziest place in the house and falls asleep with his collection of toys – and in particular, he likes a teddy sheep that is almost the same size as him.
Plays intensely and then takes a nap, like a typical puppy. Joey loves to cuddle and sleep with his stuffed animals. She loves toys! – admits Kristen Peralta.
Nothing can stop him
Joey was handed over to CT Humane Society before being accepted by Vintage Pet Rescue, which specializes in the care of elderly dogs and special needs dogs. Kristen's main goal is to make sure Joey feels comfortable and safe at all times. Of course, as long as she manages to catch him …
Joey can jump up stairs, jump on the couch, and practically get anywhere wherever he wants. It's really amazing to see him like this. Nothing can stop him. Says Kristen Peralta.
As soon as Joey is castrated and given a special wheelchair, he will be available for adoption. Kristen Peralta predicts that although this pooch looks a bit different, his attitude in life means that he will quickly find a loving family.
We know that we will receive a lot of applications for his adoption. But there's only one Joey! Kristen added.
