While walking, a good Samaritan encountered a heartbreaking sight. Someone had left their backpack on the steps of the building, gray ears sticking out from the top of the bags. As he got closer, he saw the kitten stuffed into the backpack, left to die.
Friendly and fun
The cat, later named Pixie, suffered from a severe cold and one of her eyes was in such bad condition that it had to be removed. Fortunately, it was quickly taken care of by Little Wanderers – an organization that saves needy cats in and around New York.
It's unheard of, that the super friendly, stray kitten was outside in her backpack. – admitted Lisa Scroggins, co-founder of Little Wanderers.

Because It's Better Together
In a miraculous act of support, the organizations joined forces to ensure Pixie's recovery quickly. The Animal Medical Center helped with her eye, and the Feline Veterinary Medical Center provided basic veterinary care. The kitten still needed her own home.
Fortunately, Pixie did not have to wait long for the perfect family. She came to her new home, where she met her feline siblings and suddenly she stopped feeling strange and lonely – her siblings also only had one eye.
Now, freed from her tight backpack, Pixie lives with a family that loves her and fully accepts her
